Ex-CEO of Pay2Day delivered page to employees stating Black Lives issues’ values run as opposed to values for the loan company that is payday
An Ontario-based payday loan provider claims its CEO has resigned “effective immediately” after calling Black Lives situation a “terrorist organization” and telling employees that the anti-racist team’s values operate contrary to your values of their business.
Pay2Day, a business that gives loans that are lucrative cash-crunched Canadians at over 30 areas across Ontario and BC, claims reviews from previous CEO Wesley Barker are “not representative of just exactly just what Pay2Day and all of us are and mean.”
“We sincerely and unreservedly apologize for almost any hurt or emotions of betrayal which our workers, clients and users of the Ebony community,” the business told PressProgress in a declaration.
“The views expressed by Mr. Barker are his views that are personal usually do not express the views of Pay2Day.”
This week, a Facebook post that circulated widely online revealed the previous CEO penned that “Black Lives question is just a terrorist company.”
“It may not be a popular opinion,” Barker admitted, “but it’s mine and I’m untitled to it.” He included: “Any business or buddy of mine that supports it won’t be sustained by or patronized by me personally.”

The pay day loan CEO reinforced this message by having a page delivered to Pay2Day employees claiming the group that is anti-racist to “stigmatize” and “harass” individuals “based on epidermis color, occupation, faith or sexuality.”

The CEO’s page to employees, later on posted by 6ixBuzzTV, states:

“We want to really make it clear in all its types,” Belchior stated, adding that “Pay2Day is using action, including developing a variety committee during the recommendation of our workers. that people observe that systemic racism exists and now we condemn it”
“We also have expected our employees to get more recommendations to revive payday loans WV our business tradition of trust and move ahead together.”
Barker’s responses may actually echo right-wing talking points and Elections Canada contribution records suggest the CEO that is former is engaged — Barker has offered thousands of dollars towards the federal Conservative Party of Canada since 2017.
